About Us

Durack Institute of Technology is the major provider of vocational education and training in the Midwest, Murchison and Gascoyne regions of Western Australia. We provide training across an area of over 640,000 square kilometres from the coast to the desert.

From humble beginnings over fifty years ago the Institute has established itself as a successful, quality driven training provider. We are proud of the many awards and acknowledgements we and our students have received. This success is a result of sound planning, working closely with business, industry and the community and initiatives that focus on our clients.

We provide training delivery and assessment programs and services to a diverse range of clients including school-leavers, mature age students, industry, employers, corporate clients and those who study for personal development.

Nationally Accredited Training

We provide a broad range of training with qualifications ranging from Certificate I through to Advanced Diploma in a wide range of industry areas.

Approximately 250 nationally accredited courses, recognised throughout Australia, are offered each year to over 6000 students.

The Institute plays in important role in addressing industry’s need for an appropriately skilled workforce by delivering training that allows regional people to maximise their employment opportunities.

We also offer a range of training designed to meet the learning needs of specific client groups including Indigenous clients, women, clients with a disability, youth at risk, clients from culturally diverse backgrounds and regional and remote clients.

Training is delivered in a variety of settings such as online, in the workplace, in schools and in regional and remote communities, as well as the traditional classroom. Alternative study options are available for many courses.

Some tertiary programs are delivered through our contracting arrangements with universities. Commercial fee for service training is available also.
