New Students in 2015 Need to Create a Unique Student Identifier

18 January 2015

Under the Student Identifiers Act 2014 passed in June 2014; all students, from 1 January 2015, will require a Unique Student Identifier (USI) before any results of qualifications can be issued.

A USI is effectively an account or reference number made up of numbers and letter.

The USI will allow all of an individual’s training records, entered in the national vocational education and training (VET) data collection, to be linked.

The USI is available online at no cost and will stay with you for life.

It will be recorded with any nationally recognised VET course that is undertaken.

You can apply for your USI prior to coming to accept your place and enrol or we can apply on your behalf - Identification will be required in the form of:

  • Driver’s License
  • Medicare Card
  • Australian Passport
  • Visa (with Non-Australian Passport)
  • Birth Certificate (Australian)
  • Certificate Of Registration By Descent
  • Citizenship Certificate

Want to get started? Create your USI now...

Or… do you need assistance or can’t access this website online?

Durack can apply for a USI on your behalf (with your permission).  You will need to provide your personal details and supply one the identity documents mentioned above.
