When Denielle visited the Durack Open Day to learn about 2016 course options she had no idea she would take home more than the key to her future career.
Denielle was the winner of the iPad Mini WI-FI; a perfect tool to support her study endeavours. Denielle said she had never won anything in her life and that perhaps this was a sign that she should study in her chosen field.
Denielle is interested in a career in health and discussed course options with Sacha Carroll - nursing lecturer from the Health, Education and Community Services training area.
Sacha Carroll _ Durack Lecturer presents Denielle with her new iPad mini.
Should Denielle decide to enrol in 2016, she will be one of a wave of new students to commence training in the new, state of the art Health, Education and Community Services (HECS) training facility.
The recently completed, two storey, HECS building was purpose built to enable students to learn in an environment that meets the exacting standards of industry. Students studying health, education or looking for a career in community services, will be able to meet the demands of their chosen sector and have a leading edge in this competitive world.
The Durack Open Day was a move away from the Mid West Career Expo of previous years. Despite the barometer rising to over 40 degrees, some people braved the heat and ventured onto campus to take advantage of the opportunity to speak with lecturers and obtain firsthand information about courses of interest.
People were also able to see Durack’s modern training facilities and high tech equipment across the campus. Durack aims to create a learning environment which extends each student’s learning and prepares them to enter the workforce with the skills and confidence to become a valued member of their organisation.
Should Denielle embark on a study journey, she will be able to seek student support, discuss tutoring assistance and apply for a scholarship. Durack is keen to see students maximize their time in study and successfully navigate their way through their learning journey. Durack wishes Denielle all the very best in her future.
Enrolments for 2016 courses will take place at the Geraldton campus on Thursday 21 and Friday 22 January and at the campuses in the Gascoyne from January 27 onwards.
