Durack offers Sustainablity Diploma in 2011

As we move to a greener economy, new jobs will emerge in the 'green sector' and many existing jobs will evolve to allow more sustainable ways of doing business.

To help prepare Mid West industries and communities to apply more sustainable practices in their operations, Durack Institute of Technology is offering the dual-Diploma of Sustainability for the first time in 2011.

Sustainability is an important concept that can be applied to a broad range of areas - from managing a business, to corporate social responsiblity, to helping protect the global environment through more efficient energy and resource use.

The dual-Diploma offers four fascinating units:

  • Apply basic concepts of sustainability to your own, or a local practice.
  • Develop and implement a program to support behavioural change for a sustainability initiative.
  • Develop a business plan for sustainable business practice.
  • Research and apply principles of sustainable production and consumption.

Designed to be studied as an extension of a primary qualification (existing or underway), the dual Diploma of Sustainability will provide you with the skills and knowledge to confidently apply sustainability principles and practices within your field of study or within your work environment. It’s also invaluable for members of community groups and individuals keen to learn about creating a sustainable future.
