The City of Geraldton-Greenough has engaged Durack Institute to deliver the Living Smart Program at no cost for City residents.

About the Course
In the Living Smart course you will learn techniques to make a positive impact on your home and neighbourhood, while achieving a healthier, happier self.
The 7-week course covers topics such as:
- Healthy homes, lifestyles and diets
- Energy efficiency in the home
- Waste and recycling
- Gardens for biodiversity and food
The free Living Smart course involves presentations, discussion groups and field trips and runs for 7 - 10 weeks on various sustainability topics. Through the course participants will gain the skills and knowledge to make a positive impact on their home and neighborhood, while achieving a healthier, happier self. Participants join for the whole course, and are coached to take actions after each meeting to apply their leaning.
As an example, after the Living Smart program ran in Fremantle, 91% of participants felt more a part of the community, 95% increased their knowledge of community resources and services and 82% increased their sense of well-being.
