2010 GIOA Community Careers and Training Expo
The 2010 Geraldton Iron Ore Alliance Community Careers and Training Expo is going to be held at the Durack Institute of Technology Fitzgerald St Campus on Thursday 5th August from 9am to 4pm.

Local Police Get Skills Recognised
Durack Institute of Technology have partnered with the Geraldton and Surrounding Districts Police Force for the second year in a row to facilitate skills recognition in the Advanced Diploma of Management qualification.
Regional E Learning Project
DIT and Midwest Regional Council are collaborating to develop resources in an online mode to enable the provision of Certificate IV in Frontline Management training to employees of the seven combined Shires within the Midwest Regional Council.

Over the past 3 years the local crayfishing industry has been experiencing changes that have impacted heavily on workers of the industry. DIT has identified the changes and is coordinating a successful training program for the industry workers.

On Friday 5th February Minister for Energy; Training and Workforce Development Hon. Peter Collier officially re named Central West TAFE as Durack Institute of Technology.
Summer Holidays
Central West TAFE will be closed from 18th December 2009 until 11th January 2010.
Local Company Supporting Local Training
Apprentices have been given the opportunity by a local business to train in the basics of scaffolding in the real work environment.
