VETiS courses are designed for students who are still at school but would like to start working or studying in a specific field. Students can complete part or full vocational qualifications in addition to their WACE.
Durack Institute works closely with regional secondary schools to offer a wide range of programs including Pre Apprenticeships in Schools (PAiS) and higher qualifications. Read our guide for more information.
Pre-Apprenticeship in Schools (PAiS)
These programs see students at Durack two days per week where they are given instruction by trades’ people with relevant and current trade qualifications. Students are also required to participate in work placement which is an excellent opportunity for students to show their skills and work readiness to potential employers.
These programs can lead into employment and provide an alternative pathway to University. Read our guide for more information.
All programs are delivered in Industry appropriate workplaces, such as our Restaurant, Laboratories, Salons and workshops.
Programs are offered to year 11 and 12 students within the Midwest Gascoyne Regions and delivered at our Geraldton and Carnarvon campuses or at the Geraldton Regional Trade Training Centre, one or two days a week. All programs are subject to the availability of lecturers and enrolment numbers.
For more information about these programs contact our Coordinator Education and Training Programs on 9956 2802 or email.
Individual school programs are also available. For information on these you will need to contact the VET Coordinator at your local school.
