Students Choosing Uni Pathways

Regina Richardson

After being outside of a classroom environment for 22 years, the thought of returning to study was daunting.  However, after my first lecture at Durack I knew I was in the right place to assist me in reaching my goal.

Through the delivery of interactive lectures I was able to discover my strengths and areas of interest.  Additionally the lecturers provided a welcoming, and accepting learning environment where students were encouraged to share their life skills and knowledge.

My time at Durack led me to create a new goal, which was to attend university.  I knew the transition from Durack to University would be different but I did not realise how challenging it would be.  Fortunately, the training I received at Durack has given me two things; one year credit at university and hands on practical experience in my chosen industry.

  • Certificate III in Community Services Work

Vocational Education and Training has had a profound impact on my life. I now have the confidence in knowing, that wherever I chose to work, I have the relevant training to provide the best service to my clients. This is thanks to the wonderful staff in Community Services at Durack Institute.
